History and Origins

Amsterdamsche Football Club Ajax, commonly known as AFC Ajax or simply Ajax, is a professional football club based in Amsterdam, Netherlands. Founded in 1900, the club has a rich history and is considered one of the most successful clubs in the country.

Rise to Prominence

Ajax gained prominence in the 1960s and 1970s under the leadership of coach Rinus Michels and legendary players such as Johan Cruyff. The team played an innovative and attacking style of football, known as "Total Football," which revolutionized the game.
