Carnival cancels Hurricane Ian cruises, reroutes some ships

Carnival Glory and Carnival Magic departures from New Orleans postponed

Company also had to change ports or reroute other ships due to weather

Carnival Cruise Lines canceled multiple departures from New Orleans this week as Hurricane Ian churns in the Gulf of Mexico. The Carnival Glory's cruises set for Wednesday and Saturday, and the Carnival Magic's scheduled for Sunday and Monday, have been canceled, the company announced Tuesday.

The company also has had to reroute or change ports on other ships due to the hurricane. The Carnival Dream, which was scheduled to depart from Port Canaveral, Florida, on Tuesday, will now leave from Galveston, Texas, on Wednesday. The Carnival Conquest, which was set to depart from Miami on Wednesday, will now leave from Port Canaveral on Thursday.

Carnival's Fleet Operations team in Miami is closely monitoring the hurricane's path and will make further adjustments as needed.

Hurricane Ian is expected to make landfall in Florida on Wednesday as a Category 4 storm. The storm is expected to bring heavy rain, flooding, and wind damage to the state.
